Privacy Policy

Stainless Steel Guide collects very little about you. The site has no user accounts, no comment system, no newsletter, and no forms, so we never ask for your name or email address. What does get collected comes from two places: anonymous traffic analytics and the standard logs every web server keeps. This page explains both, plus what happens when you click an affiliate link.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and how they found them. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. We see this data only in aggregate; it does not tell us who you are.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. If you would rather not be counted, you can block cookies in your browser settings or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Stainless Steel Guide participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click a link to Amazon from this site, Amazon sets cookies in your browser so it can credit this site if you make a purchase. Amazon’s handling of that data is governed by the Amazon privacy notice. We never see your identity, your payment details, or what you bought. Our affiliate disclosure explains how these links pay for the site.

Server logs

Like almost every website, the server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs: the IP address, browser identifier, requested page, and time of each visit. We use these logs only to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and they are not combined with analytics data to identify anyone.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or trade any visitor data. We do not run third-party advertising networks. We do not store personal information, because we never collect any.

Changes to this policy

If the site adds a feature that changes what gets collected (a contact form, for example), this page will be updated before that feature goes live. The policy you read here always describes how the site works today.
